Fixed
Crop intake:
Both OptiFeed and OptiCut models feature a cam-track pickup unit. The cam-track pick-up unit is designed to match the full capacity of the machine. The 230 cm wide pick-up delivers maximum ground adaption by its pendulum capabilities for optimal crop intake. The machine is capable of working in all swaths and will not let you down, even in the harshest conditions.
Integral Rotor:
All DEUTZ-FAHR FixMaster balers, cutting or non-cutting versions, are equipped with the patented* Integral Rotor Technology. The simple, maintenance free, short distance intake system guarantees an enormous throughput capacity at all times regardless of the various (crop) conditions.
OptiFeed – non cutting version:
The OptiFeed rotor with double feeding tines, made out of Hardox wear plates, provide a consistent flow of crop into the bale chamber. This rotor design helps even out windrows by moving them where needed for consistent bales every time.
OptiCut – Cutting versions:
The DEUTZ-FAHR OptiCut cutting systems are designed for unlimited intake capacity and excellent cutting quality. There are two different types of DEUTZ-FAHR OC cutting systems. (availability dependent on FM model)
OptiCut 14:
The 14-knife OptiCut cutting system provides a theoretical cutting length of 70 mm. Each single knife is spring protected against damage from foreign objects.
OptiCut 23:
The 23-knife OptiCut system provides a theoretical cutting length of of 45 mm. Each single knife is spring protected against damage from foreign objects. With group selection the operator can choose to have 0, 7, 11, 12, or 23 knives in operation.

PowerTrack:
The PowerTrack rollers have symmetrical profiles which generate exceptionally high density and reliable bale rotation in all crop conditions. All rollers are made of 3,2 mm thick high-strength steel which are roll-formed and laser-welded on one side for optimal durability. Each roller is individually removable, to facilitate regular maintenance and repairs.
Fast tailgate detection:
A highly accurate tailgate sensor monitors the bale growth as from 80% to allow the driver to optimize the bale shape and density. The tailgate of FM 330/335 opens and closes in up to 4,5 seconds for maximum output, thanks to its stable design with torsion pipes.
Binding:
DEUTZ-FAHR FixMaster fixed chamber balers can be equipped with twine or net binding systems, or a combination of both. Binding plays a crucial part in the pressing process for transporting and storage. Spending less time on binding means greater productivity.
Baling and wrapping:
Two technologies from DEUTZ-FAHR combined in one machine, the FM BalePack. This easy to use machine is
capable of working on even the steepest slopes and in all crop conditions. The DEUTZ-FAHR FM BalePack has a high capacity due to a fast and reliable bale transfer, high-speed twin-satellite wrapping unit and IntelliWrap.
The IntelliWrap™ system works in conjunction with the sophisticated electronics and hydraulics of the roto-press controls to continuously monitor the wrapping process and control film overlay for unparalleled versatility, ensuring superior silage quality and minimising the risk of nutrient loss.
FILM BINDING:
The DEUTZ-FAHR machines which are equipped with the patented* film binding use regular 750 mm film rolls. Use of this film type eliminates the need for special wide film, which helps ease your inventory management. It also makes it easier when changing the film rolls as the weight is less (approx. 27 kg). An important benefit of using regular film is the ability to use a much higher prestretch ratio compared to conventional wide film binding systems. This reduces the film costs when using film binding by 30% and reduces the frequency of changing the film rolls by yet another 30%.
Always in control:
The DEUTZ-FAHR FM series controlled by the AT 10 control box provide clear and easy to read information.
The DEUTZ-FAHR FM 335 and FM 335 BP offer additional comfort with ISOBUS compatibility. ISOBUS compatible tractors will not require a separate control box for these balers. Alternatively, the VT 50 or CCI 200 monitor can be used with tractors that are not ISOBUS compatible. All balers offer clear operator settings, such as amount of net layers and automatic/manual binding start.

Variable
Progressive Density:
The PROGRESSIVE DENSITY system has proven its value on all DEUTZ-FAHR VM balers. The system increases tension as the bale grows providing a firm bale with a tough outer shell. As the bale grows within the bale chamber, the belt tensioning arm is subjected to steadily increasing resistance from two hydraulic cylinders and a spring tensioner. So as the diameter increases, the bale's density does too. The result is a very firm bale with a moderate core – not too soft, not too hard. With a tougher outer layer, straw bales will be more tolerant to bad weather conditions, while silage bales will maintain their shape for improved stacking and easier handling.
Pick-up:
All VariMaster models feature a cam-track pick-up unit. The design of this 2.30 m cam-track pick-up unit means that even the thickest, tallest windrows are gathered effectively and quickly. The new OptiFlow open throat models are equipped with an unrestricted 210 cm wide intake unit. The driven bottom and top roller combination brings maximum thrust to the crop flow for full capacity.
Integral rotor technology:
All VM balers, except balers with OptiFlow, are equipped with the patented* Integral Rotor Technology. The simple, maintenance free, short distance intake system ensures even feeding regardless of the various (crop) conditions. All Integral Rotor units are provided with tines made out of Hardox wear plates. The short distance between rotor and pick-up yields an outstanding crop flow. This force-fed intake makes higher forward speeds possible for outstanding productivity and reduced crop damage.
Non-cutting versions:
When cutting the crop is not required, the OptiFlow and OptiFeed intake systems ensure a controlled and consistent crop flow to the bale chamber. (availability dependent on VM model)
OPTIFLOW – OPEN THROAT:
The OptiFlow open throat intake has an unrestricted intake unit for maximum capacity in all crop conditions. In heavier conditions, like big wide straw or silage windrows, the top roller is acting like a pre compactor which is powered by the primary driveline of the baler. There are no stuffer fingers or rotor tines which can disturb the flow and therefore limit the intake capacity. This generates a huge input potential and prevents blockages of the unit resulting in a high output and a minimum of downtime.
OPTIFEED ROTOR:
The OPTIFEED rotor with single feeding tines and integrated augers, provide a consistent flow of crop into the bale chamber. This rotor design helps even out windrows by moving them where needed for consistent bales every time.

OPTICUT 14:
The Integral Rotor with the 14-knife OPTICUT system is designed to even out the swath and force-feed the crop into the baler for maximum throughput. The 14-knife OPTICUT cutting system provides a theoretical cutting length of 70 mm. Each single knife is spring protected against damage from foreign objects.
OPTICUT 23:
The Integral Rotor with the 23-knife OPTICUT system from DEUTZ-FAHR has the benefits of intensive cutting and mechanical protection. The 23-knife OPTICUT system provides a theoretical cutting length of 45 mm. Each single knife is spring protected against damage from foreign objects.
Bale formation:
The bale chamber on the VM 700 series exists of 3 bale chamber rollers and 5 belts. The belts and rollers in the bale chamber provide fast, consistent core formation. In this pre-chamber, moderate or soft-cores can be chosen to meet the need of any operation.
The VM 765-795 balers can run on a higher baling density with up to 10% increase of bale weight in dry crops. The bale chamber is provided with a second belt drive to keep the belt turning in the heavy silage conditions. In addition, all new belt guide rollers in the bale chamber of the machine carry heavier bearings and improved seals to meet the highest demands.
Durability:
All VM 765-795 models have increased overall driveline quality. The integration of cardan yokes in the drive axles, higher quality drive chains and belt track rollers contribute to an improved life time of the machine. The second belt drive roller guarantees a secure belt drive in all crop conditions.
