Driving comfort, ease of use and practical operation are not luxuries
for DEUTZ-FAHR, but essential requirements for completing a variety
of work quickly and safely. The 5D Series offers a wide selection of
models and variants, but when it comes to comfort you can only
choose between good and very good with DEUTZ-FAHR.
As you enter the cab, you will notice that modern materials
and a uniquely functional design give the latest
comfort cab of the 5D Series a clean, bright and inviting
atmosphere where the driver can feel relaxed. Every
last detail of the interior has been carefully put together.
All of the controls are ergonomically arranged, built into
the console to the right of the driver. They are arranged
by their frequency of use and are clearly colour-coded.
Familiarisation of operational controls takes very little
time.
It is easy to find the right engine power for your working applications
with the 5D Series. Four engine variants are available: two state-of-theart
Tier4i FARMotion engines with three or four cylinders and two triedand-tested
1000 Series Tier3 engines, also with three or four cylinders.
All engine options deliver high torque with a broad constant power
range, which means they offer optimal fuel efficiency.
FARMotion engines are characterised by an abudance of technology:
the innovative Common Rail injection system with an
injection pressure of 2000 bar, injection valves with seven
holes and a three-stage injection process. All of this ensures
much more effective use of fuel, helping to increase engine
power while reducing fuel consumption.
It is easy to find the right engine power for your particular site profile with the 5D Series. Four engine variants are available: two state-of- the-art Tier4i FARMotion engines with three or four cylinders and two tried-and-tested 1000 Series Tier3 engines, also with three or four cylinders. All engine options deliver high torque with a broad constant power range, which means they offer optimal fuel efficiency. The three-cylinder FARMotion engine (capacity 2887 cc) provides constant power at speeds from 1800 to 2100 rpm with a maximum torque of 354 Nm and a torque increase of 40 %. The four-cylinder FARMotion engine (capacity 3849 cc) offers constant power from 1700 to 2200 rpm and high torque even at low engine speeds. The maximum torque is 408 Nm with a torque rise of 32 %. The 1000 Series Tier3 engines with three and four cylinders demonstrate similarly impressive values with a torque increase of up to 31 %.
From the simple mechanical 10/10 reversing gearbox to the three- stage Powershift 45/45 transmission with speeds of up to 40 km/h or 40 km/h ECO as well as hydraulic PowerShuttle and Stop & Go function, the 5D Series offers extraordinary diversity and unique technology to ensure maximum efficiency for all applications. All transmission variants are highly efficient at transferring engine power to the wheels or PTOs. Mini and Creeper speeds are available.
The PTO speeds are also uniquely varied. The 5D Series is equipped with 540/540ECO/1000 rpm speeds and ground speed PTO. Moreover is possible to have also the front PTO 1000 on LS and GS versions. Fuel-saving operation in ECO mode is possible at any time with the 540ECO speed. The PTO is activated mechanically (Ecoline) or electro- hydraulically on the the LS and GS models.
The intelligent design of the attachment points makes the 5D Series what it should be – a flexible working tool that allows you to perform your tasks with a high level of productivity. The 5D Series attachment points are one of the best on the market in terms of working precision, control and productivity. A mechanical lifting power control is used to operate the attachments as standard. For the LS and GS models in the 5D Series, a fully electronic lift (EHR) is an optional. On request, the LS and GS models can be fitted with a front linkage with 1750 Kg capacity. The rear lifting capacity is 2650 kg (Ecoline) or 3000 kg (LS/GS). A maximum load of 3600 kg is possible with external rams.
The braking system of the 5D Series ensures maximum safety in all conditions. Each model is fitted with four-wheel brakes as standard (plate disk in an oil bath). Separate brake valve can distribute the braking effect between the front and rear axles depending on the situation. Of course, the handbrake is also part of the standard configuration.
